Uzbekistan’s passenger vehicle production grew 1.5-fold in 4M24 to 114,605 units, according to the national statistics agency.

This included 41,704 Chevrolet Cobalts, with the production of that model up 50.3% y/y. Also rolling off the auto assembly lines were 23,200 Chevrolet Damas vans, a figure that was higher by 22% y/y.

The Chevrolet Tracker crossover was the third most made vehicle at 17,100 units, up by 4.7-fold y/y.

Production of the Chevrolet Lacetti-Gentra nearly halved to 10,900 cars, but the model is being phased out.

Output of the Chevrolet Onix reached 11,500 units, marking a 3.7-fold y/y rise from the previous year.

Chevrolets in Uzbekistan are made by UzAuto Motors under licence.

In terms of the production of other carmakers in Uzbekistan in the first four months of the year,

6,150 KIA and 3,490 Chery cars were assembled.

Production volumes for other brands present in the country remain modest, but it is early days for the Uzbek auto market as new players provide market diversification away from UzAuto dominance. A total of 230 Haval cars and 73 Exeed vehicles were produced. Both Haval and Exeed are Chinese brands.

In 2023, Uzbekistan's motor vehicle production was reported at an all-time high of 425,876 units, marking an increase from 341,167 units in 2022.
