Croatian insurance market increases 1.6% y/y in Jan.

Croatia's insurance companies reported a combined premium income of HRK 871.2mn in January, up by 1.6% on the year, the financial regulator said on its website. The life insurance segment rose by 4.4% on the year to HRK 184mn, while non-life insurance premiums inched up by 0.8% on the year to HRK 687.3mn. Croatia Osiguranje remained a market leader with a premium income of HRK 331.2mn in January. It held the leading position in both the non-life insurance segment (44.1%) and the life insurance segment (15.3%), or an overall share of 38%. Allianz ranked second with a 14.8% market share, followed by Euroherc with a 7.5% share.
