Croatia's July number of foreign arrivals up 6.9% y/y.

Foreign arrivals to Croatia increased by 6.9% y/y to 8,659 in July 2011, while the number of departures went up by 7.7% y/y to 7,828, the statistics office said. The data covered cross-border traffic of passengers at road, railway, river, maritime and air border crossings. Within the traffic of passengers at road border crossings, the number of arrivals rose by 3.2% y/y to 9,914 and of departures by 3.7% y/y to 9,143. Within the cross-border traffic of passengers at railway border crossings, the number of arrivals dropped by 1.6% y/y and departures went down by 2.9% y/y. The maritime border crossings statistics showed that the traffic of passengers increased by 4.8% y/y in arrivals and 5.4% y/y in departures, while the air border crossing posted an increase of 8.1% y/y in arrivals and 10.7% y/y in departures.
