A new round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place on May 11 in Muscat, Oman on May 9 confirming previous IntelliNews reports.

This fourth round of talks comes amid growing disagreements between Washington and Tel Aviv over addressing Iran's nuclear programme.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will lead the Iranian delegation. At the same time, Steve Witkoff, the White House Special Envoy, will head the American team, as the Axios report suggested, citing American administration officials.

The negotiations coincide with Donald Trump's meeting on Thursday with Ron Dermer, Israel's Minister for Strategic Affairs and a close ally of Benjamin Netanyahu, to discuss Iran.

According to informed sources, the meeting focused on Tel Aviv's concerns about Trump's diplomatic approach towards Tehran, with the administration cutting out the Israelis from proceedings.

During the meeting, Trump stressed his efforts to reach an agreement with Iran without resorting to military force, a position that conflicts with Netanyahu's preference for considering military options.

The discord between Washington and Tel Aviv intensified after the Trump administration unexpectedly announced a ceasefire agreement with Yemen's Ansarullah movement last week, a decision Israeli officials were not informed about in advance.

Earlier in April, Israel expressed serious concerns that the United States is nearing a "bad deal" with Iran that may not fulfil Jerusalem's core requirements for preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, Channel 12 reported at the time.

The ceasefire was announced hours after Israel targeted several ports and airports in Yemen following a drone attack on Tel Aviv's international airport.

Trump is scheduled to begin his regional tour on May 12 with visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, it is currently not known if he will meet personally with Iranian officials during his regional visit.

The announcement comes as Iran’s Araghchi is on his way to visit both Saudi Arabia and Qatar ahead of Trump’s visit to participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue Summit in Qatar, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said.

Following Araghchi's departure, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, speaker of Iran's Parliament, stated during a meeting with Golestani ethnic groups in Azadshahr that Iran should not isolate itself from the world, asking, "Which rationality, justice, spirituality, or which part of the revolution and system has told us to cut ties with the world?"

According to Hamshahri newspaper, Ghalibaf continued: "We have two paths - one is to neutralise sanctions using the existing capabilities in the country. The other option is to pursue negotiations."

He added, "I have never opposed negotiations. My friends remember when I once said that we agree with negotiations and also consider it a method of struggle."

Ghalibaf stressed: "We must certainly be children of our time; we must certainly be up-to-date in politics. This is what Nahj al-Balaghah has taught us. Our Imam has taught us to be children of our time."
