The state antitrust commission said in a statement on its website that it has allowed the acquisition of Media Group Bulgaria Holding by two local individuals, Ognyan Donev and Lyubomir Pavlov, and BG Printmedia. The regulator does not expect any change in the market positions of the participants in the concentration. Media Group Bulgaria Holding runs leading dailies Trud and 24 Chasa, weekly 168 Chasa and four other national weeklies, five regional dailies, and nine magazines. Ognyan Donev is CEO of the leading pharmaceutical producer Sopharma. Lyubomir Pavlov is providing financial consultancy and services and is also running a cafeteria. Ognyan Donev and Lyubomir Pavlov hold 40% and 43%, respectively of Media Group Bulgaria Holding. BG Printmedia controls the remaining 17% in the company. Printmedia on its part is owned by BG Privateinvest GmbH (53%) and Lyubomir Pavlov (47%).
