US car supplier Getrag Ford to build EUR 8mn logistics centre in Slovakia.

German car components producer Getrag Ford Transmissions Slovakia plans the construction of a new logistics facility at its Slovak base in the Kechnec industrial park in the eastern part of the country, the company spokeswoman Karin Burgmer said. She elaborated that the logistics centre would occupy an area of 10,000 sqm and would be used as a distribution point for gearbox components and for the export of finished gearboxes. Construction on the project was scheduled to start in May and the logistics base should become operational from the beginning of 2011. Total investment cost for the project was estimated at EUR 8mn.
