The chairman of the major ethnic Croat party - Croatian Democratic Union BiH HDZ BiH, Dragan Covic, will most likely be re-elected at the forthcoming party congress on May 13, Nezavisne Novine daily reported. Covic, who is the only nominee, took over the party leadership in 2005, when he defeated Bozo Ljubic. Ljubic later on left the party and established HDZ 1990. Covic was re-elected in 2007, when he was again the sole candidate for the position.
