Kazakhstan is interested in transportation of oil from Tengiz field via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, Umirzhak Shukeyev, head of national welfare fund SamrukKazyna has informed. He added that a compromise is planned on disputable price issues. Kazakhstan used to send oil via the pipeline but stopped after transportation tariff was increased. Significantly, the information about possible resumption of Kazakh oil pumping via the route has been emerging in the media for several months.
