Top Iranian judge Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei has ordered judicial officials nationwide to assist the government in controlling the foreign exchange market and stabilising prices ahead of Ramadan and the Persian New Year, Bashgah-e Khabarnegaran-e Javan reported on March 3.

During a meeting of the High Council of the Judiciary on March 3, Ejei instructed prosecutors across the country to provide necessary support to the government's market regulation as the holy month approaches.

"Should the Central Bank request assistance in controlling currency rates, relevant judicial officials should provide necessary help within legal frameworks," Ejei stated.

The judiciary head said that fighting economic corruption remains a priority, saying the judicial branch "considers it a duty to help the government improve people's livelihood and strengthen the country's economic foundation."

He added that the judiciary would continue taking decisive legal action against various forms of corruption, embezzlement and hoarding while removing obstacles to production and ensuring security for investors.

Ejei also directed judicial officials to cooperate with security forces in maintaining public safety during the upcoming holiday period, warning that "elements who resort to creating insecurity and commit violent crimes will definitely face decisive and legal action without any leniency."

The judiciary chief specifically praised Tehran's prosecutor and court officials for their swift handling of the case involving the murder of a University of Tehran student, noting that prompt action in such cases prevents enemies from exploiting these incidents.
