Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly condemned last night's American attack on some of the country's nuclear facilities, stating the aggression showed the United States is the main driver behind the Zionist regime's hostile actions against Iran.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting on June 22, Pezeshkian said the US initially tried to conceal its role but was forced to enter the field directly after Iran's armed forces delivered a decisive and deterrent response that exposed Israel's apparent inability.
"This aggression showed that America is the main factor behind the Zionist regime's hostile actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran," Pezeshkian said.
"Although they initially tried to hide their role, after the decisive and deterrent response of our country's armed forces and witnessing the apparent inability of the Zionist regime, they were forced to enter the field themselves."
The president said that this morning's powerful attacks by Iran's armed forces on occupied territories were in fact a response to America's aggressive policies, noting that the "Zionist regime" referring to Israel, fundamentally lacks the "size and position" to have the capability and audacity to attack Iran alone.
Pezeshkian said recent events demonstrated how concepts such as democracy, human rights and international law have become meaningless in today's world. He stressed that the only way to protect the country's independence, dignity and security is to possess real power.
The president called for setting aside differences and activating the enormous popular capacities, noting that Iran's people have repeatedly shown they will spare no effort to preserve the country's territory.
Pezeshkian stressed the need for extensive public participation and delegating responsibilities to different sectors of society, stating the government has a duty to ensure uninterrupted service delivery to the people.
