The inflation perceptions of Uzbek citizens have fallen for a fifth month in a row since a surge in January, according to the central bank .
January brought abnormally cold weather, a factor in taking the average price growth perception to 20%. By March, the perception was down to 14%. The median estimate at the start of the year was around 15%. In the following months, it did not exceed 12%.
As of June, the figures were 12.9% and 10.6%, respectively.
Among the regions, residents of Tashkent (17%) felt price increases the most, followed by Bukhara (13.5%) and Samarkand (13.3%).
Lower-income groups expressed strong sentiments about price increases for travel and fat-and-oil products.
Wealthier households showed sensitivity to rent and medical service price rises, but were less concerned with transport and drink price increases.
