Crossing a major regulatory ownership threshold in the Indonesian real estate sector, wealth management institution Bank of Singapore Limited has increased its equity stake in property developer PT Intiland Development Tbk (IDX: DILD), Pasar Dana reports. Disclosed via an official Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) information disclosure on August 31, the bank acquired 500,000 DILD shares on August 26, at an execution price of IDR119 ($0.01) per share. The transaction brings Bank of Singapore’s total voting stake above the 5.0% threshold required for mandatory public disclosure under Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulations.

The acquisition was executed for investment purposes through an indirect ownership structure, with the direct registered holder identified as Grassland Overseas Inc. Following the transaction, Bank of Singapore's total holding expanded from 518,152,900 shares (4.9987% voting rights) to 518,652,900 shares (5.0035% voting rights). By surpassing the 5.0% threshold, Bank of Singapore joins the ranks of major institutional shareholders in DILD, signaling institutional interest in domestic real estate assets amid regional property market adjustments.

To execute strategic equity positions, international wealth management institutions route client capital through offshore holding vehicles into domestic listed equities. Offshore private banks utilising nominee or holding companies (such as Grassland Overseas Inc.) continue to play an active role in channeling regional wealth into Indonesian equities. This transaction structure demonstrates how institutional capital can build substantial equity positions through intermediary vehicles while maintaining regulatory transparency, ultimately reinforcing the institutional shareholder base of Indonesia’s real-estate sector. As regulatory disclosures provide transparency, tracking further changes in institutional shareholdings will be key to gauging market sentiment.
