Azerbaijan will build a 100kW floating solar power plant on Boyukshor Lake near Baku, the country’s energy ministry has announced.
Gamma Solutions has been selected via a tender for the engineering, procurement and construction required for the facility, plus two years of operation and maintenance, it added.
The procurement was carried out by the EGO-NIXUS consultancy.
The energy ministry said the project would be implemented within the framework of the regional project “Development of Floating Solar Energy Systems”, which covers Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan and is run under the Knowledge and Support Technical Assistance Program of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
