Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump lauded their White House meeting during the early hours of July 29.

This was followed by an attack by US and Saudi forces on IRGC-backed militias in Iraq following Iranian strikes on US bases in the Middle East.

While IntelliNews previously noted that Netanyahu was expected to present US President Donald Trump with intelligence indicating that Iran has transferred nuclear centrifuges to the "Pickaxe Mountain" facility, the Israeli leader did not mention this topic in his media address.

"I have now finished an excellent meeting with President Trump," Netanyahu stated in a social media video published by the Prime Minister's Office. "A conversation with full partnership, with friendly support, with understanding that Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons and other weapons. One of the best conversations that have existed with the US President and our friend, Donald Trump."

He later echoed this sentiment during an interview with Fox News. "We share a common commitment. We do not want to see the fanatic regime in Tehran acquire nuclear weapons that would threaten every American, world peace, and the very existence of Israel," Netanyahu explained.

"We have a shared goal, and it will be achieved, whether through diplomatic means or other means. We are both committed to this. That is the main takeaway I would like you to have from the meeting.” The Prime Minister also reiterated that the US-Israel alliance remains as strong as "a granite wall."

Trump took to Truth Social to express his view on the meeting with Netanyahu.

"Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu of Israel, along with myself and Representatives. Had a very good meeting! Obviously, many important subjects were discussed. President DONALD J. TRUMP," the US president posted.

Early on July 29, following the meeting, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it carried out a joint attack with the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces on Iranian-backed Iraqi militias.

“US and Saudi fighter aircraft struck multiple terrorist logistics and weapons sites across eastern Iraq in a strong response to over 30 IRGC-directed aerial drone attacks in the last 72 hours,” CENTCOM announced in the press statement.

The Saudi Defence Ministry added that the strikes "reaffirm the Kingdom's legitimate right to defend itself," adding that it  "does not seek escalation but will respond to any aggression it faces," in a post on X.

While CENTCOM did not specify which bases were struck, the IRGC told Iranian state media that it fired ballistic missiles at a US military command centre and air bases in Jordan.
