Azeri SOCAR interested in natural gas distribution operations in Turkey.

Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR wants to enter Turkey's natural gas distribution market. Vakif Aliyev from SOCAR told news agency Anadolu that they planned to take part in the privatizations of natural gas distribution companies. SOCAR already holds a stake in local petrochemicals company Petkim and has deals and plans to carry Azeri natural gas to Europe via Turkey. Socar recently announced a new natural gas pipeline, called Trans-Anatolian pipeline project.
