Bosnia to launch mobile number portability as of January, 2013.

By bne IntelliNews December 18, 2012
Bosnia will finally introduce mobile number portability as of January 2013 after delaying its launch several times due to switching system upgrade setbacks, news service Capital.ba reported, quoting the countrys market regulator RAK as saying. RAK has assured that all three mobile operators in the country - BH Telecom, HT Mostar and Telekom Srpske, have been technically and administratively ready to implement the service, the report said. Bosnians were due to start porting their mobile numbers as of January 1, 2012 but the process was delayed because the smallest of the three operators in the country, HT Mostar, had not completed the upgrade of its mobile switching system. Bosnia's initial deadline for launching the process was June 30, 2011, and BH Telecom and HT Mostar were fined BAM 30,000 (EUR 15,340) each earlier for failing to meet it.
