Wind Farms of Ukraine to channel UAH 3bn in construction of wind power station.

The Wind Farms of Ukraine intends to channel UAH 3 bn (USD 0.4bn) in construction of wind power stations in Crimea by 2016, Vladyslav Yeremenko, the chief executive officer at the company, told. The company plans to provide both its funds and the loans raised from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Ukrainian state-run banks, Megabank, Prominvestbank and others, the CEO said. The payback period for the wind power stations is 7-8 years, he added. The project is estimated at UAH 600mn. The company is studying the possibility to build a chain of six wind power stations in Saky, Sovetskyi, Pervomaiske and Lenine districts of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea with the capacity being 1 gigawatt. The project is valued at EUR 1.3bn.
