Ukraine lowers gas imports by 39% y/y in Jan-Jul.

In Jan-Jul, Ukraine has lowered gas imports by 39% y/y to 18.7bn m3, the press service of the Ukrainian gas-transport system operator Ukrtranshaz has announced. Thus, about 2.8bn m3 of gas was imported to Ukraine (to Naftogaz Ukrainy and Ostchem Holding). The price for imported natural gas delivered to Naftogaz Ukrainy in Q3 has increased by 0.2%, from USD 425 to USD 426 per thousand m3. Naftogaz Ukrainy confirms that on August 7 it transferred USD 930mn to Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom for the natural gas delivered in July. Thus, the national oil and gas company imported about 2.18bn m3 of gas in the previous month. Naftogaz Ukrainy expects the gas price for the fourth quarter at USD 417 per thousand m3. The volume of transit of natural gas through the territory of Ukraine fell by 20.78% y/y to 6bn m3 in July. The volume of natural gas transit through the territory of Ukraine decreased by 25.36% y/y to 49bn m3 in Jan-Jul.
