Analysts split on how far Russia's key rate still has to fall

Slovenia's real retail trade revenue increased by 2.1% year on year in June (chart), supported by growth across all major retail segments, although sales edged down by 0.2% compared with the previous month, the statistics office said on July 28.
Motor fuel trade recorded a 1.8% annual increase in real revenue, while food and non-food retail sales rose by 1.6% and 1.5%, respectively.
On a monthly basis, however, overall retail revenue declined as a 9.4% drop in motor fuel sales outweighed a 1.1% increase in food retail turnover, while non-food trade remained unchanged from May.
In the first half of 2026, real retail trade revenue was 1.9% higher than in the same period of 2025.
Motor fuel trade posted the strongest growth over the six-month period, with revenue rising by 6.4%, followed by a 2.5% increase in non-food retail. Food retail revenue declined by 0.9%.
Meanwhile, revenue from the sale and repair of motor vehicles continued to perform strongly. It increased by 12.0% year on year in June and by 4.2% compared with May. In the first half of 2026, the sector's revenue was up 6.6% from the same period a year earlier.
