The volume of Kyrgyzstan's industrial output increased by 10.3% y/y from January to April, Trend has reported, citing National Statistical Committee data.
According to the report, Kyrgyzstan's total industrial output reached 115.9bn Kyrgyz som ($1.4bn) in the period. Growth was primarily driven by increased production of the following: base metals and fabricated metal products - 32% increase, wood and paper products - 25.8%, oil products - 2%.
The flagship Kumtor gold mine significantly boosted output; without it, output would have grown by only 2.4%, reaching 76.4bn Kyrgyz som ($925.5mn).
