Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry (TPE: 2317) reported its highest-ever August sales, driven by global demand for artificial intelligence applications, Focus Taiwan reported on September 5.

The iPhone assembler, known internationally as Foxconn, has become one of the main beneficiaries of the buildout of AI data centres, with its server business now rivalling the consumer electronics operations that made it Apple's largest contract manufacturer. The company is the world's biggest electronics contract manufacturer by revenue.

Consolidated sales reached TWD921.77bn ($29.16bn) in August, up 51.98% year on year. The figure was the second-highest monthly total in the company's history, behind July's TWD946.51bn.

Hon Hai said its cloud and networking division recorded significant year-on-year revenue growth as AI momentum accelerated. Its smart consumer electronics division also grew sharply as customers rebuilt inventories ahead of new product launches and as shipment prices rose.

The electronics component and computing product divisions posted strong year-on-year gains as well, according to the company.

Month on month, the cloud and networking and electronics component divisions grew significantly in August, while smart consumer electronics and computing products saw sales fall.

Sales for the first eight months of the year totalled TWD6.51 trillion, an increase of 39.73% from the same period of 2025.

Hon Hai said the third quarter is a traditional peak season for the information and communications technology industry and that it expects sales growth momentum to continue.
