Estonia's producer price index (PPI) grew 0.5% y/y in June, data released by Statistics Estonia showed on July 22.

The headline figure sees the PPI inflation rate ease 0.6pp compared to the annual reading in May. That still extends the current trend of PPI inflation to 33 months straight. On a monthly basis, the index inched up 0.1% after retreating 0.4% the preceding month.

The annual PPI growth in June came on the back of prices growing 7.5% y/y in the mining and quarrying sector. Prices in the manufacturing sector contributed with an expansion of 0.3% y/y.

PPI fell 5.4% y/y in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply whil not changing in the water supply segment.

In m/m terms, PPI did not change in the water supply and manufacturing sectors. Factory gate prices gained 0.5% m/m in mining and quarrying. Prices also grew in the utility sector, at 1.4% m/m.

Estonia's consumer price index (CPI) grew 2.4% y/y in June, Statistics Estonia said earlier this month. Growing prices in the food and non-alcoholic beverages segment drove inflation, data showed.
