China confirms its interest in cooperating with Ukraine in the sphere of agriculture, announced Agricultural minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk. The minister also stressed that Ukraine had taken all necessary measures to fulfill its obligations under this agreement. In particular, president Viktor Yanukovych has signed the law stipulating increasing sovereign guarantees by UAH 53.8bn to UAH 68.8bn for attracting USD 3bn loan from China to develop projects in the agro-industrial complex and the programme of substitution of natural gas with Ukrainian coal. Ukraine will be able to raise funds for financing concrete projects in the farming sector. The funds will allow increasing the volume of turnover of agricultural products and foodstuffs, and also augmenting productivity, improve financial capacities for the country's agricultural producers and, respectively, to upgrade technical retooling.
