Carlsberg Ukraine posts net profit of UAH 512.9mn (USD 64.1mn) in 2012.

In 2012, Carlsberg Ukraine posted net profit of UAH 512.9mn (USD 64.1mn), the companys preliminary results show. As of late 2012 the assets of the company made up UAH 3.3bn, total accounts receivable - UAH 332.86mn, current liabilities - UAH 672.78mn. According to specified data, the company earned UAH 482.99mn in 2011. Carlsberg Ukraine unites beer and non-alcoholic beverage plants in Zaporizhia, Kyiv, and Lviv. The company represents beer and non-alcoholic beverages of the following trade marks in Ukraine and Moldova: Slavutych, Lvivske, Baltika, Tuborg, Baltyka, Carlsberg, Holsten, Corona, Negra Modelo, Arsenal, Khmilne, Kvas Taras, TOP Tea, Somersby, Guinness, Kilkenny, Harp, Warsteiner. Another large beer and non-alcoholic beverages producer Obolon corporation, has reported a net profit of UAH 223.878mn (USD 28mn). As of late 2012, the companys assets amounted to UAH 3.6bn and receivables were UAH 508.027mn. Current liabilities of the enterprise made up UAH 1.5bn and long-term liabilities were UAH 951.4mn. To compare in 2011, the company reported a net profit of UAH 118.501mn, having increased net revenues by 6.72% y/y to UAH 3.6bn. Obolon Corporation unites the Kyiv brewery, the Fastiv brewery (Siebert's Brewery) in Kyiv region, the Bershad brewery combine in Vinnytsia region, the Sevastopol beer and soft drinks combine, the Okhtyrka brewery in Sumy region, the factory of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages and mineral waters Krasylivske in Khmelnytskyi region. The Ukrpyvo company, which unites about 80% of the beer producers in Ukraine, has said that production of beer reduced by 1.6% to 300.3mn decaliters in 2012. Ukraine last year exported 31.5mn decaliters (dal) of beer, which is 12.7% up on 2011. According to the service, in monetary terms beer exports last year grew by 6.7% to USD 10.13mn. In 2012, Ukraine imported 5mn dal of beer, which is 9.2% up on 2011. In monetary terms, beer imports last year grew by 12.3% to USD 38.8mn. SUN InBev Ukraine, Obolon, Carlsberg Group in Ukraine and Miller Brands Ukraine control the Ukrainian beer market.
