Vienna Insurance Group said its Slovak business posted a 53.4% growth in pre-tax profit for 2011 to EUR 57.2mn, as premiums rose 4.8% y/y to EUR 678.8mn. Premiums in the life insurance segment increased 5.5% to EUR 359.8mn, while non-life insurance premiums grew 3.9% to EUR 319.1mn. Vienna Insurance Group claims to be a market leader on the Slovak insurance market with a 33% share. In the motor insurance business it claims a market share of about 44%. Vienna Insurance Group is represented by three insurance companies in Slovakia - Kooperativa, Komunalna Poistovna and Poistovna Slovenskej Sporitelne. |
