An Israeli drone strike killed one person targeting a vehicle on the Ansariyeh road near the Zahrani-Tyre highway in southern Lebanon, local Al-Mayadeen reported on August 9.

The attack by Israel on Lebanese territory is part of a campaign targeting Hezbollah militants. It is the latest in a long list of cross-territorial executions by the Jewish state in the neighbouring country amid the ongoing fighting in Gaza.

The name of the person killed was not released to the public; however, it is expected to be a fighter from the Hezbollah group, according to the information available via its official media channels, IntelliNews can confirm.

Israeli IDF-affiliated media channels have not yet published details on the strikes, and Israeli media have not confirmed them.

Lebanese media reported that the attack represents the latest Israeli violation of Lebanese sovereignty and security, targeting the main highway connecting the cities of Sidon and Tyre in southern Lebanon.

Earlier, Lebanon's Ministry of Health announced on August 7 that six people were killed and 10 wounded in an initial toll from an Israeli strike on the Masnaa road in eastern Lebanon.

An additional citizen was killed in an Israeli strike on the town of Kafardan in the Baalbek district.

That attack comes after the ministry announced on August 5 the death of a person as a result of an Israeli drone strike targeting a car in the town of Brital, in the east of the country.
