Uzbekistan’s 4M23 foreign trade expands 13.4% y/y to $19.6bn

Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover in 4M23 amounted to $19.57bn, marking an expansion of 13.4% y/y.

Exports were valued at $7.66bn, up 6.2% y/y. Imports showed a more significant increase, rising by 18.6% y/y to $11.91bn. The foreign trade deficit thus reached $4.25bn.

China remained Uzbekistan's top trading partner at $3.3bn (equating to almost 17% of total trade turnover), with imports from China accounting for $2.72bn. Russia retained the ranking of main export market for Uzbek goods at $585.4mn, while it was second for imports at $2.15bn.

Excluding gold, the largest share in Uzbekistan's commodity exports was accounted for by manufactured goods at $1.3bn, down 13.6% y/y.

Revenues from the export of textiles and fabrics decreased by almost 17% y/y to $680mn.
