An alleged strike on Iran's military facilities by Israel is believed to be the latest tactic being employed by the Trump administration in its ongoing negotiations over Tehran's nuclear programme, according to one anonymous source speaking with Lebanese Al Mayadeen television on June 11.

The latest admission from Iranian intelligence sources comes as the US diplomatic mission in Iraq has begun the emergency evacuation of diplomats, whilst the United States government is preparing to evacuate military personnel from Kuwait and Bahrain.

US President Donald Trump convened a security meeting at the White House with senior military commanders following the escalating tensions, in what Tehran said it believes is the latest in the Trump administration's attempt to extract concessions from Tehran before a potential meeting in the coming days.

Despite the Iranian admission, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth authorised the voluntary departure of US military family members from facilities in the Central Command.

Hegseth "has authorised the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations" across the region, US Central Command said in a statement late on June 11. The command "is monitoring the developing tension in the Middle East," it added.

"The State Department regularly reviews American personnel abroad, and this decision was made as a result of a recent review," Anna Kelly White House Spokesman, announced afterwards.

Iran previously claimed to have gained access to information about Israel's missile programme, with reports from Tehran suggesting the Netanyahu government is attempting to stop Iran from disseminating the information, allegedly about the country's clandestine nuclear programme.

Meanwhile, some sources in Western intelligence services believe Iran is deliberately prolonging negotiations with the United States to buy time and prepare for possible strikes on its nuclear facilities, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Following the heightened tensions, Iran's Revolutionary Guard naval force said it is fully equipped and ready to confront "any threat," the force's commander-in-chief declared.

Major General Hossein Salami said during an inspection of naval units that combat readiness has been achieved through round-the-clock efforts by commanders and fighters.

Salami congratulated Iran on what he called a major intelligence achievement, referring to recent operations that demonstrated the penetration of Israeli intelligence and security systems following Operation "Al-Aqsa Storm."

The Revolutionary Guards commander said the Persian Gulf and adjacent areas represent important defensive regions for Iran, with a serious commitment to defending territorial and maritime interests.

Salami said the naval force has experienced unprecedented leaps in combat capabilities in recent years under precise command, developing various combat systems. He noted the force can manage both close maritime battles and distant engagements effectively.

Following his comments, Britain's Maritime Agency warned all tankers and other vessels to remain on standby when crossing the Persian Gulf.

Five rounds of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States have taken place since April 12, with Oman serving as mediator. Iran insists on its inalienable right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, whilst Washington seeks complete dismantlement of the nuclear programme.
