Croatian food and pharmaceutical group Podravka (PODR) reported normalised net profit of €41.1mn for the first half of 2026, roughly level with a year earlier, the company said on July 23, HINA reported.

Flat earnings mark a sharp slowdown for a group that grew net profit by more than 80% in 2025, with weaker consumer purchasing power and falling farmgate prices for pork and milk squeezing the food and agriculture arms. Growth is now concentrated in pharmaceuticals, the smallest of the three divisions by revenue.

Operating revenue rose €8.7mn to €520.7mn. Normalised EBITDA reached €89.6mn.

The food segment generated sales revenue of €298.9mn, up €3.3mn or 1.1%, driven mainly by own-brand development in Croatia and in Southeast and Western European markets.

Pharmaceutical unit Belupo posted revenue of €94mn, an increase of €6.3mn or 7.1%, with growth across all product categories.

Podravka Agri reported operating revenue of €131.8mn, slightly above the year-earlier level despite lower pig and milk prices. The group said efficiency improvements, operational adjustments and investment in agricultural production offset market pressures.

"Despite increased uncertainty in the environment and rising energy prices, we continue to grow revenue and invest in long-term competitiveness," said Martina Dalić, president of Podravka's management board.

The company said it was continuing to invest in production modernisation, brand development and international expansion, including strengthening the Lino Lada spread brand in German retail chains and expanding agricultural production.

Podravka, based in Koprivnica, operates in more than 60 export markets and employs around 7,775 people. Its shares have been listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange since 1998 and trade on the Prime Market.
