IntelliNews Reputation Leaders Awards 2026

Citizen of the Year

The Citizen of the Year award recognises companies that have established an exceptional reputation for corporate citizenship — organisations that make a notable contribution to society, operate with transparency and honesty, and protect the environment in ways that deliver measurable positive impact.

This category celebrates businesses whose citizenship principles translate into tangible results in community investment, ethical governance, and environmental protection.

What We're Looking For

Nominees for Citizen of the Year are evaluated based on a combination of open-source information, independent research, and editorial analysis. Assessment focuses on how companies not only deliver business success but also act as responsible corporate citizens that earn the trust of the communities and stakeholders they serve.

Key evaluation criteria include:

  • Social contribution and community impact: Evidence of investment in community programmes, philanthropic activity, education and skills initiatives, and measurable benefit to the societies in which the company operates.
  • Transparency and corporate governance: Openness and accuracy of corporate disclosures and communications, ethical business conduct, and adherence to anti-corruption and good governance standards.
  • Environmental protection and sustainability: Commitment to reducing environmental footprint, responsible resource use, emissions reduction, and investment in sustainable and green practices.
  • Honesty and integrity in public dealings: Consistency between stated values and actual practice, fair treatment of customers, employees, and partners, and a track record free of major ethical controversies.
  • Public perception and stakeholder trust: Recognition in ESG and sustainability rankings, media coverage of citizenship initiatives, and social media sentiment reflecting credibility and public trust.
  • Long-term commitment and measurable outcomes: Sustained engagement with social and environmental causes, with demonstrable and reportable results over time.
