Qatar Central Bank issues QAR500mn treasury bills

Qatar Central Bank issued QAR500mn ($137.4mn) in treasury bills on February 20, the Al Sharq newspaper reported on February 21.

Qatar remains one of the few stable economies in the region and expects to invest heavily in recently liberated Syria and potentially Iran if the Trump administration removes sanctions.

The seven-day bills carry an interest rate of 4.584% and will mature on February 27, according to the central bank's data.

The latest issuance brings the central bank's outstanding treasury bill balance to QAR17.65bn ($4.85bn).
