Iran's foreign minister has dismissed calls for restraint following Israeli attacks as "unjustified", warning that Tehran's response will be "decisive and definitive" under the UN Charter, IMNA reported on June 13.

Abbas Araghchi made the comments during a telephone conversation with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy on June 13, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. The call focused on recent Israeli military action against the country, with the UK backing Tel Aviv after its strikes against Tehran.

Araghchi described Israel's strikes as a "flagrant violation of international law", citing attacks on Iran's national sovereignty, nuclear facilities, residential areas, and the deaths of university professors, high-ranking military officials, women and children.

The Iranian Foreign Minister criticised what he called the "unjustified and provocative approach" of European countries in supporting Israeli actions, warning of consequences for regional and global stability.

Iran has initiated diplomatic efforts to convene an emergency UN Security Council session, with Araghchi calling for urgent action from the council and its members, particularly Britain, to condemn and halt Israeli aggression.

"Requests for restraint from Iran in the face of Israeli regime's aggressions are unjustified," Araghchi stated, adding that Iran's response would be based on UN Charter principles.

Iran said Lammy expressed regret over rising regional tensions and hoped for restraint from all parties, advocating for diplomatic solutions to resolve the issues.
