Croatia's foreign tourist arrivals up 0.5 % y/y in June.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Croatia in June inched up 0.5% on the year to 1.43mn, the statistics office said. The number of domestic tourists fell by an annual 5.8% to 169,048 in June, and thus the total number of tourists for the month edged down 0.2% on the year to 1.59mn, the office said in a statement. The total number of overnights tourists spent in Croatia in June declined by a yearly 2.5% to 7.6mn. Foreign tourists overnights dropped by an annual 1.9% to 7.03mn in June, while overnights of domestic tourists went down 9.6% on the year to 571,025. The highest number of overnights was spent by visitors from Germany (15.9%), Slovenia (12.6%) and Austria (10.5%). In aggregate terms, the number of tourist arrivals rose 4.6% on the year to 3.56mn in January-June, while the total number of overnights for the period climbed 4% to 13.6mn. The number of foreign tourists to Croatia increased 6.6% on the year to 2.92mn in January-June, while the number of domestic tourists stepped down 3.5% on the year to 647,003. The number of overnights foreign tourists spent in the country went up by 5.3% to 11.9mn in January-June, while the domestic tourists overnights fell 3.6% to 1.7mn.
