Uzbekistan is planning to establish major assembly plants for agricultural machinery in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan as part of its efforts to expand industrial cooperation, Kazinform has reported, citing Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Olimkhon Rustamov.
Negotiations with partners in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are in the final stage. The aim is to enhance industrial collaboration and boost the production of agricultural machinery in the two countries.
In January, the Tashkent Tractor Plant LLC launched a unified project, known as the cluster, with a total project cost of $65mn. The plant has an annual production capacity of 15,000 units of agricultural machinery, valued at $165mn. It is anticipated that the cluster will generate an annual net profit of $16.5mn.
The company already exports its products to neighbouring countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. By establishing assembly plants in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan aims to further strengthen its presence in the agricultural machinery market and expand its export capabilities to these countries.
