Ukrainian Security Service drones struck a military airfield used for storing and launching Shahed drones in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar region, Russia, along with the Elektropribor military plant in Penza, the SBU reported on August 2.

The SBU said its long-range drones targeted the military airfield in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, which stores and launches Shahed drones used to attack Ukraine, with fires breaking out following the strikes, Ukrinform reported on August 2.

The second target was the Elektropribor plant in Penza, which the SBU described as playing a role in Russia's defence industry by manufacturing equipment for digital networks in military command systems and devices for aviation, armoured vehicles, naval vessels, and space systems.

"SBU drones successfully struck the site, and smoke was observed following the explosions," the agency said, emphasising that it will continue working to degrade the military and economic capabilities of the aggressor state.

Ukraine's General Staff confirmed that several Russian oil industry facilities were also hit in response to Russia's recent terrorist shelling of Ukrainian cities that killed and injured civilians.

Confirmed strikes included the Ryazan and Novokuibyshevsk oil refineries, whilst Ukrainian drones successfully struck the Anna Nefteprodukt fuel and lubricant depot in Voronezh region.

Multiple explosions and fires were reported at the affected sites, with operations carried out by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, and the SBU in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate.

"The systematic and deliberate targeting of infrastructure that supports the enemy's military will continue until the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine is fully stopped," the General Staff said.

The strikes represent Ukraine's continued strategy of targeting Russian military infrastructure and energy facilities in response to ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian targets.
