Getrag Ford Transmissions Slovakia (GFT Slovakia), a unit of German auto components producer Getrag Ford Transmissions, posted a net profit of EUR 11.2mn for 2011, up from EUR 2.3mn in 2010 on the back of a strong sales growth, SME reported. The companys sales grew 58% y/y to EUR 360.5mn. GFT Slovakia plans to boost the capacity of its plant in Kechnec, eastern Slovakia, by 24% to 285,000 dual clutch transmissions (DCT) units in order to meet growing demand from Ford and other clients and optimise capacity utilisation, which has reached nearly 100%.
