Of 6,233 tests analysed in Estonia for coronavirus over March 22, 1,064 produced a positive result, the country’s public health authority announced on March 23.
The biggest number of new COVID-19 positive people, 668, are residents of Harju County, of them 490 live in the capital Tallinn.
The infection rate in Estonia for the past 14 days now is 1,502.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the ratio of positive outcomes of first-time tests is 19.7% of the total number of tests performed during the period, which puts Estonia among the worst COVID-19-hit EU member states during the period.
As of March 23, 692 COVID-19 patients were undergoing treatment in hospital in Estonia, and altogether 85 new COVID-19 cases were opened during the past day.
Vaccinations for COVID-19 have been performed on 169,435 people, of whom 57,559 people have received two doses of the vaccine.
