Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on April 29 paid a one-day visit to Rome to attend the fourth intergovernmental summit between Italy and Turkey. A joint cabinet meeting was held.
Erdogan held a joint press conference with Italy’s right-wing-to-far-right PM Giorgia Meloni. He also met with his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella.

Erdogan’s younger son-in-law Selcuk Bayraktar, owner of drone maker Baykar, was also present at the press briefing, while Bayraktar’s Italian partner, aerospace producer Leonardo, which recently signed a partnership agreement with Baykar, was also represented at the event.
