Prospect Resources Limited (ASX:PSC), an Africa-focused mineral exploration company, has identified a new high-grade copper zone at its Mumbezhi project in Zambia, according to filing on December 4.

Drillhole NCDD021 at Nyungu Central returned 34m @ 0.88% Cu from 128m, plus 2.7m @ 0.52% Cu from 114m, extending shallow high-grade mineralisation to the south. The company said Phase 2 drilling confirms potential for a larger-scale copper system.

Additional Phase 2 assays from the Kabikupa deposit included metallurgical hole KKMT001, which intersected 18.6m @ 0.48% Cu from 98m, including 13.6m @ 0.56% Cu from 103m. Phase 2 drilling is now complete, with assays pending for Nyungu Central, Nyungu South and West Mwombezhi.

Prospect submitted more than 1,200 Nyungu Central pulp samples for dedicated gold assays. Results are expected progressively through January 2026. Updated mineral-resource estimates for Nyungu Central and Kabikupa remain on track for Q1 2026.

Managing Director Sam Hosack said the results “deliver substantial prospectivity for high-grade, near-surface tonnage growth into next year” and position the company to create value in 2026. Pending assays and soil data will inform next year’s drilling and exploration plans.

Prospect said recent AEM geophysical results and the completion of 2025 drilling provide a strong foundation for continued advancement of the Mumbezhi project.
