Journalist attacked in northern Kazakhstan.

Lukpan Akhmedyarov, a reporter of Uralsk Week was attacked with knife by 2 people after he left his apartment. He is in a serious but stable condition. The editor of Uralsk Week Tamara Yeslyamova said that the attack was connected to the journalists work. Urals Week has a reputation of an independent newspaper, while Akhmedyarov covered politics and business issues. The international organizations like the OSCE and Committee to Protect Journalist urged the Kazakh authorities to investigate the attacks. Significantly, Kazakhstan chaired the OSCE in 2010.
