Iran has established a central command centre to coordinate the distribution of essential goods across the country as authorities seek to prevent shortages and profiteering during the current war with Israel, ROKNA reported on June 17.

The command structure represents Iran's efforts to maintain civilian supply chains whilst managing economic pressures from ongoing military tensions with Israel.

Dubbed the "Central Shahid Salami Headquarters", it was formed following a proposal by the head of the Guilds Basij Organisation, bringing together representatives from trade chambers, government ministries and regional officials.

A meeting attended by Ghasem Nodeh-Farahani, head of Iran's Chamber of Guilds, and deputy ministers from the industry and agriculture ministries discussed coordination mechanisms for goods distribution and market regulation.

Provincial trade chamber representatives reported on the current supply situation for basic commodities, noting adequate stock levels whilst identifying logistical challenges and potential shortages ahead.

The new structure will establish provincial headquarters across Iran to monitor production, distribution and consumption chains. Officials said the system aims to prevent exploitation by individuals seeking to profit from wartime conditions.

Trade chamber heads were instructed to increase market monitoring and take preventive measures before shortages develop.

Flour distribution to bakeries received particular attention, with provincial officials tasked to review local supply conditions and coordinate with governors to ensure adequate quotas for bread production.

Authorities are also coordinating with the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad on oil and rice supplies to maintain stable availability of these staples.

The meeting concluded with warnings that trade unions and chamber officials must take action against individuals engaged in hoarding, stockpiling or price manipulation.
