Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that any US military intervention would result in "irreparable damage," whilst declaring the Iranian nation will not surrender to imposed war or peace, Iranian news agencies reported on June 18.

Khamenei praised what he described as the Iranian people's "steady, brave and timely" response to recent Israeli attacks, which he characterised as "foolish and malicious aggression by the Zionist enemy."

The Supreme Leader called the Iranian response a sign of national growth and the strength of rationality and spirituality amongst the population.

"The Iranian nation stands firm against imposed war just as it will stand firm against imposed peace, and this nation will not surrender to anyone in the face of coercion," Khamenei stated in a televised message.

The Supreme Leader said wise individuals who understand Iran's people and history never speak threateningly to the nation because Iranians are not surrender-prone.

"Americans should know that any military intervention by America will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage," he warned.

The comments follow escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with recent missile exchanges and cyberattacks targeting Iranian financial institutions including the Nobitex cryptocurrency exchange.

Iranian officials have consistently rejected international pressure over the country's nuclear programme and regional activities.

The warning comes as regional conflicts continue to intensify, with Iran maintaining its position against what it terms external coercion.

Khamenei's message reinforced Iran's declared stance of resistance against both military pressure and negotiated settlements it considers imposed by foreign powers.

The Supreme Leader's remarks were broadcast as part of a televised address to the Iranian nation on June 18.
