Estonian Air, the national carrier, has been named as the most punctual airline in the Aviation Awards 2010, hosted by Brussels Airport, as well as the most punctual airline in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Estonian Air recorded 97% 15 minutes punctuality index in April, which is well above the average 15 min punctuality average of the European airlines, which is recorded at 86%. Estonian Air, outperformed SAS in punctuality, which was selected as the most punctual airline in Europe in the summer of 2010 with the punctuality of 91.3%. Estonian Air indicated that such results were even harder to reach with a small fleet, as each delay makes a bigger impact on the overall statistics. |
