Polands EKK Wagon is interested in opening a production plant for railroad freight cars in Bosnias Serb Republic, the office of the Republics Prime Minister Aleksandar Dzombic said in an emailed statement. The statement was issued after Dzombics recent visit to the Polish company. EKK Wagon is interested in setting up the plant in a strategic partnership with the Republics state-controlled railway operator Zeljeznice RS, the statement said. The two parties have agreed to form a working team that will shortly offer the Serb Republic government the best possible model of cooperation. EKK Wagon is one of Europes biggest manufacturers of freight cars and operates four plants. According to the Serb Republics statement, EKK Wagon plans to relocate its production programme from Poland to Bosnia, where it would produce for the local and regional markets. EKK Wagon employs 2,500 workers. |
