Kosovo’s Termokos warns of mass disconnections over outstanding €15mn consumer debts

Residential customers of Kosovan heating utility Termokos have total debts of €15mn to the company for unpaid bills, which may prompt mass disconnections, local media reported on October 20.

Days before the start of the heating season, the public utility that provides heating energy for citizens in and around the capital Pristina said it was facing problems collecting debts from consumers.

Director of Termokos Arsim Fetahu warned all debtors that if they do not pay their bills, the management will take action, including mass disconnections, according to Telegrafi.

"Definitely there will be disconnections, but before that clients will receive two warning notes,” Fetahu was cited as saying.

Termokos has been operating since 1970. Since June 2008 it has operated under the supervision of the Municipality of Pristina.
