Internet users in Montenegro up 8% y/y in Jan 2013.

The total number of broadband connections (including ADSL, WiMAX, WiFi, KDS) in Montenegro climbed 8% y/y in Jan 2013, slowing down from a 10.4% annual rise in Dec 2012, the telecommunications agency announced. The ADSL connections which dominated the market (78.8% share) inched up 1.6% on the year to 66,845. WiMax connections shrank by an annual 3.6% to 7,067 and their market share dropped to 9.1% from 9.3% a year earlier. The market share of WiFi connections in Montenegro shrank to 3.9% from 4.1% in Jan 2012. The total number of prepaid and post-paid users of mobile operators who accessed the internet in December was 224,042, out of them some 48% (107,389) used 3G technologies.
