Croatia rolled out two new digital tools aimed at making access to public services easier for citizens and businesses on September 1, Justice and Public Administration Minister Damir Habijan said, according to a government statement.
The Croatian authorities hope the initiative will simplify bureaucratic procedures, boost transparency and improve user experience across Croatia’s public administration.
The new mGrađani mobile platform and app, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, will provide an additional channel for citizens to use state services. The app currently offers 20 services and is expected to gradually expand to include all 117 available on the e-Građani portal.
“Over time the mGrađani mobile platform will become a unique platform that citizens will need to access public services via mobile devices,” Habijan said. The app is available for download from the App Store and Google Play, with 22,883 users registered so far, he said.
Habijan also unveiled a new Life Situations sub-portal, which groups together information and services linked to key administrative procedures such as buying property, enrolling children in kindergarten or dealing with a death in the family. The tool, part of the gov.hr portal, features an AI chatbot to guide users step-by-step.
In addition, the government has upgraded the e-Citizens User Box, allowing official correspondence with legal effect to be sent electronically. Since its launch in late June, 29,379 such messages have been delivered, according to ministry data.
