Bosnias Federation distributive trade turnover down 1.1% y/y in Q1 2012.

The distributive trade turnover in Bosnias Federation shrank by an annual 1.1% to BAM 3.4bn (EUR 1.7bn) in the first quarter of the current year after falling by 1.8% on the year in the final quarter of 2011, the entity's statistics office said on its website. The distributive trade comprises all types of trade activities, from supplying goods from the producer to distributing them to the final consumer. When compared to the previous quarter, the Q1 distributive trade shrank by 20.5%. The turnover of wholesale trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles fell by 15% y/y to BAM 123mn . The retail trade turnover in motor vehicles and motorcycles dropped 7.7% y/y to BAM 52mn in Q1, while turnover in automotive fuel slid 2% y/y to BAM 307mn. Wholesale trade in the Federation rose 0.3% y/y to BAM 1.7bn in Q1. Retail trade turnover edged up by 0.5% y/y to nearly BAM 1.1bn in the first three months of 2012.
