Serbia's retail sales drop by real 16.7% in 2011.

Serbia's retail sales contracted by a real 16.7% last year after shrinking 0.9% in 2010, the statistics office said. The 2011 drop in nominal terms was 7.3% versus a 7.2% nominal increase a year earlier, the office said in a statement. In December alone, retails sales fell by 16.5% y/y in constant prices after decreasing a real 16.4% in November. On a monthly basis, December retail sales rose a real 13.2% after climbing 7.4% in November. In nominal terms, retail sales fell by an annual 9.9% and rose by a monthly 12.7% in December.
