Serbian Telecom Sector Report - 2015

This report covers Serbia’s telecom sector. It discusses statistical data, financial information and major news released in the period October 1, 2014 – November 25, 2015. Market-level data usually refer to 2014. In addition, figures on fixed and mobile traffic are presented for H1 2015, as well as the 2015 survey on the usage of ICTs.

Revenues from telecommunication services in Serbia amounted to €1.5bn in 2014, staying approximately unchanged from 2013. The revenues were equal to 4.5% of the country’s GDP.

Last year, local currency revenue growth in the fixed-line market was slightly positive prior to including revenues from international traffic, but marginally negative after including them. In euro terms, revenues decreased. Fixed telephony dropped 10.9% y/y in H1 2015.

In the mobile market, 2014 revenues were approximately flat in local currency terms, but lower in euro terms. Mobile telephony shrank 4.9% y/y in H1 2015.

Revenues in the Internet market were higher in RSD terms last year, but edged down in euro terms. In 2014, the media content distribution market recorded another year of solid revenue performance.
